When is the release date for the 2024 Ford Mustang?

The Ford Mustang is expected to be released in the summer of 2023. This will be the seventh generation of the exciting Mustang sports car and it's expected to have redesigned styling, an all-new interior and two enhanced powertrains. The next-generation Mustang is expected to continue with the same 5.0-liter V8 engine with a higher level of horsepower. There will also be a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that will deliver 315 horsepower. 2024 Ford Mustang interior and trim features

The 2024 Ford Mustang is expected to offer Linwood and Standish, MI buyers a total of five trim configurations:

The Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback for 2024 is the most affordable option, available only in a fastback with an automatic transmission. You'll get an abundance of standard safety features that are part of Ford's CoPilot360® package. That should include a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic detection and a lane-keeping assist system. The Mustang at this level comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights with sequential turn signals and LED headlights. There's a big 13.2-inch infotainment screen that merges with a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster, creating one massive curved display.

The Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium Fastback builds off the base model, giving you 18-inch alloy wheels, remote start and heated outside mirrors. Inside you'll find a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and a wireless charging pad. At this level, you can upgrade to a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo with 12 speakers.

The Ford Mustang GT Fastback puts some serious strength under the hood with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that can generate 480 horsepower. The GT Fastback also gives you larger brake rotors with 4-piston calipers along with a dual exhaust. Building off the base model, the GT Fastback adds a rear spoiler, a hood vent, 18-inch alloy wheels and a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel. The front seats get lumbar support and buyers from Sterling and Bay City, MI can upgrade to the High Package with a 9-speaker stereo.

The GT Premium builds off the GT and offers a convertible option. A 5.0-liter V8 engine is included and you also get a heated steering wheel and available Recaro seats. Leather seats and 19-inch alloy wheels come standard.

The Dark Horse is an all-new trim on the 2024 Ford Mustang and it replaces the Mach 1 as a track-ready Mustang designed for the serious driver. It comes with a 50-liter V8 engine that's good for 500 horsepower and you'll get the fun of a 6-speed manual transmission. Building off the GT High Package, the Dark Dorse adds 19-inch Brembo brakes with 6-piston front brake calipers. Inside the cabin is a flat-bottom leather-wrapped heated steering wheel with a 6-way power adjustable driver's seat.

The 2024 Ford Mustang engines

The 2024 Mustang will come standard with an upgraded turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine with 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The Mustang Dark Horse is the highest-level trim and will give buyers from Tawas, MI a 5.0-liter V8 engine that's good for 500 horsepower.
